Morgan Price is an honors student in the sixth grade at Solomon Plains Elementary School in Plains, Pennsylvania. She joined NDSS Your Way and set up her page in memory of her aunt, Joy Ann Landmesser, who had Down syndrome. Morgan set her goal at $500 and surpassed that amount! She has a 10-year-old sister named Abby who has helped her with her fundraiser.
Morgan helped organize a talent showcase for 5th - 8th grade students at her school, at which she set up an information table with a tri-fold display board to educate her peers about Down syndrome. She distributed facts from NDSS about Down syndrome and spoke openly about her aunt, Joy Ann.
“She was always so cheerful and fun to be around. She was always known to be the life to the party and loved to dance at all of our family weddings and parties. My sister and I enjoyed playing American Girl dolls with her. She enjoyed attending Duke basketball games with my uncle and great-grandfather. She was the youngest of six children and my grandfather is her oldest brother. She worked at a local career opportunity center for people with physical and mental challenges called United Rehabilitation Services. She loved to sing in the choir at church. She was a great woman and I miss her a lot.”
Morgan’s aunt, Molly, said it best when she posted a message on Morgan’s page, “Thank you for doing this Morgan. You have a kind and generous heart and you are a credit to our family, your community and your parents. We love you!”
NDSS agrees! We hope Morgan is an example of what we can expect from our youngest generation of fundraisers.
