In honor of Down syndrome awareness month I would like to share a little bit about my baby sister Kellie. Who is Kellie? Kellie is a dancer, a singer, and a performer. Kellie is a good listener; she has the unique ability to truly not judge others. I know because through my childhood and to this day, Kellie is someone that I can vent to. During these moments she has always had her way of reminding me of what life is really about. Too love and to be loved. In Kellie’s 21 years of her life she has had an unbelievable, effortless ability to make people feel loved. She has touched countless lives, and will forever continue to do so. Although Kellie is my younger sister, I look up to her. She has taught me patience, perseverance, and perspective. Kellie is no different in terms of what she wants in life, what everyone wants in life… freedom, love, happiness, and independence. Kellie is beautiful on the inside, and she is especially beautiful on the outside as well. I know that all 8 of my siblings would more than agree that to have Kellie as our little sister is a blessing that none of us fully deserve.
