My Four-Year-Old!
Jamir and His Daddy
Jamir and His Daddy
My Four-Year-Old!

This story is about my son, Jamir Logan, who is four years old. He was born early and unexpectedly different. His father, James, named him Jamir, which means handsome boy and yes, the shoe fits. In spite of spending his first nine months of life in the hospital, undergoing surgery after surgery, he always keeps a smile on his face. Jamir melts anyone who crosses his path. His laugh opens your ears and his smile will light up a room. His favorites are music, boxing and ball. It is amazing to watch after being told what he will never do or know when he is in a room filled with people. He is not yet walking but determined to be a sportsman, I can tell! Jamir lost his daddy a few months ago and I notice tears in his eyes once in a while so I play a video of the two of them and he calms down a great deal. Then he is back to his silly, playful self. We still have a long way to go but Jamir has inspired me to take life as it is,and keep it moving. He is the reason that for the first time I believe in the saying 'never let someone tell you that you can't do it!' Every day he shows me that no matter how hard, 'you can.' I wouldn't change this little boy for one second. If you are ever in the area and in need of inspiration look him up - he is a charm. He is Jamir! Thanks Jamir!

Jamir's mom Pam had a hard time accepting his diagnosis when he was born. I saw her discouragement and loss of hope for her beautiful but “challenged" baby boy. I didn't know that the Doctors gave such a grim report of their future. I work with the mentally and physically challenged and I see first hand how promising their future can be, and I told Pam this. Doctors can go but so far but our faith can take us to achievement and victory. The story is not over. Jamir will achieve and we all will be victorious.

What a beautiful tribute to such a wonderful boy, who in his few years has ALREADY overcome so many obstacles. I look forward to his growing and budding future!

Jamir is a great little guy with a great spirit and smile. Not only is he an inspiration, he's also proof that all things are possible with strength and prayer. His mother is as strong as they come; it's almost unreal. I'm humble to have witness the 2 of them and I'm looking forward to their life long journey.

Jamir is an inspiration to us all! He's more than special! His story alone was a huge influence and encouragement to me and my family. My son was born in January premature weighing 1.6 lbs. I had the privilege of working w/Pamela so I was well aware of her early struggles w/Jamir and I always admired her strength, faith, and ability to persevere knowing everything would be ok. She answered any and every question I had concerning my son. She gave me optimism when I was very depressed w/her wisdom in dealing w/a similar situation. I will always appreciate Pamela for her help and support, and I will forever remember Jamir's story to help me and my family moving forward.
